EasyTouch® lancets and lancing devices come in four gauges built for different skin types and testing needs, plus an adjustable lancing device to control puncture depth. Not sure which gauge is right for you? The buying guide below walks through how to choose.

Choosing the Right Lancet Gauge

Lancet gauge refers to the thickness of the needle, and, a little counterintuitively, a higher gauge number means a thinner needle. 28G is the thickest option in this lineup, built for thicker or calloused fingertip skin where a finer lancet often can't draw enough blood without repeated sticks. 32G and 33G sit at the other end, designed for a smaller, more comfortable puncture that suits sensitive skin and frequent daily testing. 30G lands in between, a common everyday choice when neither extreme is necessary.

If you're new to testing or unsure which gauge fits your skin and testing routine, Arpovo's Glucose Test Strip Buyer's Guide and guide to glucometer lancets and lancing devices both go into more detail on matching your equipment to your testing habits.

Pairing a Lancet with the Right Lancing Device

A lancet needs a lancing device to control how deep it punctures the skin. The EasyTouch® Adjustable Lancet Device lets you dial in puncture depth to match your skin thickness and the gauge you're using. A shallower setting paired with a fine 32G or 33G lancet is typically the most comfortable combination for daily testing, while a deeper setting may be needed to get a usable sample with thicker skin regardless of gauge.

Lancets are only one part of a full testing routine. Pair them with test strips and a compatible meter from Arpovo's glucose meter test strips selection, or browse the full diabetes monitoring category for meters, control solutions, and related supplies in one place.
